Scholarships

Each year a number of Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School Academic Scholarships are awarded to students with outstanding achievements. In order to determine who should receive these scholarships, students should be nominated based on their first and second assessment results as well as their daily performance. These students should not only be academically outstanding, but should also possess a good attitude, demonstrate good behaviour and contribute positively to the CKY community.

Primary Scholarships

  1. The Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau Academic Scholarships are awarded to students with overall outstanding achievement. Recipients will be awarded either full or half scholarships. Full and Half scholarship recipients are subject to meeting the school’s attendance requirements.
  2. The Po Leung Kuk Scholarship is awarded to students with overall outstanding achievement. Recipients will receive HK$800.
  3. The Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School Subject Scholarships are awarded to students who have been outstanding in one of the following subjects:
    a. English
    b. Chinese
    c. Mathematics
    Recipients will be awarded HK$3,000.

 

Secondary Scholarships

  1. The Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau Academic Scholarships are awarded to students with overall outstanding achievement. Recipients will be awarded either full or half scholarships. Full and Half scholarship recipients are subject to meeting the school’s attendance requirements.
  2. The Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School Subject Scholarships are awarded to students who excel in one of the areas: Chinese, English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Art/Music and Sport. Recipients will be awarded HK$5,000 in Years 6-8, a scholarship award of 20% in Years 9-11 and HK$5, 000 in Year 12.
  3. The Po Leung Kuk Scholarship is awarded to students with overall outstanding achievement. Recipients will receive HK$1,000.
  4. The Principal Lau Siu Ling Holistic Scholarship is awarded to students in Years 6-12 for their outstanding academic achievement and holistic development. Each awardee will receive HK$5,000.
  5. The Dr. Kwok Siu Ming Simon and Dr. Kwok Law Kwai Chun Eleanor Scholarship Fund is awarded to the top 10 scorers in the IBDP Diploma (the total number of awardees may vary). Each awardee will receive HD$10,000.

 

IGCSE Scholarships

  1. The Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School Academic Scholarships are awarded to students who have achieved outstanding results in the IGCSE public examinations. The scholarships include:
    a. HKD2,000 for students who have achieved at least 6 to 7 IGCSE grades at A/A*
    b. HKD4,000 for students who have achieved at least 8 to 9 IGCSE grades at A/A*
    c. HKD6,000 for students who have achieved at least 10 IGCSE grades at A/A*

 

IB Scholarships

  1. The Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School Academic Scholarships are also awarded to students who have achieved outstanding results in the IBDP public examinations. The scholarships include:
    a. HKD2,000 for students who have achieved 36-37 points
    b. HKD3,000 for students who have achieved 38-39 points
    c. HKD4,000 for students who have achieved 40-42 points
    d. HKD6,000 for students who have achieved 43-45 points

 

Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau Excellence Beyond Academics Scholarship

At CKY, we firmly believe that “Every child is good at something.” and are committed to supporting our students’ individual talents. As such, we are pleased to announce the establishment of a new scholarship, the Excellence Beyond Academics Scholarship, aimed to acknowledge students’ excellent performance/talent in areas, such as sports, music, arts, and STEAM.

Students who have met one of the criteria below can apply for the scholarship.

  1. Represented Team Hong Kong in an international or national (hosted by mainland China) sports competition.
  2. Placed in an international or national (hosted by mainland China) competition in the areas of arts, music or STEAM.



Applicants should read and follow the application guidelines carefully as documentary evidence will be required. While students may apply for different areas of achievement, they will only be eligible to receive a maximum of one Outstanding Achievement Scholarship per year. Awardees will receive HK$3,000.
